Is my order secure?
Yes, your information with android.brightstarcorp.com is on a secure and encrypted server.

How will my order be confirmed?
All orders are confirmed immediately upon placement by e-mail receipt notification with details including order number, total cost, and taxes. Please print this email as it will be your receipt.

How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you will receive an email with your shipment tracking information. With the information provided you will be able to track the status of your shipment via the shipping carrier's web site.

Why is there a limit of one device for purchase?
A limited quantity of Android Dev Phone 2 devices have been produced. To allow the most developers around the world to access these devices, a limit of one device per registered developer has been established.

What countries can I order from?
At this time, we are processing orders for the Android Dev Phone 2 in Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom and the United States. As for the Nexus One, currently accepting orders from the following countries: Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States.

If your country is not available it may be added at a future time.


Payment

What currency will my payment be in?
All prices shown are in US dollars and will be processed as such.

How will my credit card statement read?
Your credit card statement will show money debited to the account of: Brightstar.

When am I charged for my order?
You are charged after you accept the terms of sale and click on the PLACE ORDER button from the place order page.

What are the available forms of payment?
Brightstar accepts Visa and MasterCard only. All credit cards are verified via VeriSign payment gateway prior to processing orders for shipment. We will accept both Google Checkout & PayPal payments shortly. Please check back soon.

Do you accept COD or wire transfers?
At this time we only accept major credit cards (Visa & MasterCard). If you are purchasing from outside the USA, the currency conversion will be done by your credit card company.


Shipping and Taxes

How will my order be shipped?
All US orders shipped by Brightstar will ship by UPS or FedEx. International orders will be shipped via UPS.

When will my order ship?
We process orders Monday - Friday, excluding major US holidays. For in-stock inventory, orders will ship within 3 business days of when the order is placed. Unfortunately, we cannot back order inventory that is currently not in-stock.

What days do you ship?
Brightstar will ship orders Monday through Friday for delivery five days a week, excluding major US holidays.

What states in the US do you charge taxes in?
Brightstar currently charges tax for all orders placed in Florida, California, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Texas.

What are your shipping Rates and Options?

Continental US
We offer three options for continental US, including free ground shipping.

Outside the US
For orders shipping outside the US, the shipping pricing includes cost of freight, insurance, and a fuel surcharge. Orders that are shipped internationally are also subject to import taxes, customs duties and other fees levied by the destination country ("Import Fees"). These fees will be calculated during checkout and appear on your order. Please reference the table below for details on the shipping and import fees for your country.

Note: The shipping rates and import fees are based on the model of phone you are purchasing.

When will my international shipment arrive?
International shipment times can vary. Once they reach the destination country, they may be subject to customs clearance procedures which can cause delays beyond original delivery estimates. Additionally, increased shipments during the holiday season may affect timing. All shipments will be processed within 3 business days from receipt of order. Can I purchase an AC adapter for my country?
At this time, only US AC adapters are available. You will need to plug the US plug into an authorized adapter for your own country.

How can I use my own phone plan on the Android Dev Phone 1?
First, you will need to purchase an unlimited data plan from your service provider. You should call your service provider for more details.

If you have a T-Mobile SIM (with unlimited data), then you are now good to go! Just insert your SIM, power up your phone, and proceed through the Setup Wizard.

If you have a SIM from any other carrier, you will need to update your Phone Settings with the relevant Access Point Name (APN) for your provider. You can call your service provider for this information, or you can look it up yourself on the Internet. Try starting here. This link takes you to a website which lists Settings data for most of the major carriers in the world.

Now, if you've never logged into the phone before, you should:
1. Turn on your device.
2. On the very first screen of the setup wizard, press the MENU button. Select "APN Settings" in the menu.
3. Now, click MENU again, and select "New APN"
4. Tap on each field to fill in the relevant APN information
5. Click MENU, and select "Save"
6. Now click BACK and proceed through the rest of the Setup Wizard process

To update your Settings if you've already signed in before and completed the Setup Wizard, you should:
1. Turn on your device.
2. Launch the Settings application
3. Select "Wireless controls"
4. Select "Mobile networks"
5. Select "Access Point Names"
6. Now, click MENU, and select "New APN"
7. Tap on each field to fill in the relevant APN information
8. Click MENU, and select "Save"
9. Now click BACK and then HOME to return to the Homescreen.

How can I use my own phone plan on the Android Dev Phone 2 or the Nexu One?

First, you will need to purchase an unlimited data plan from your service provider. You should call your service provider for more details.

Powering up your phone:

  • Step 1: Remove the battery door and insert your SIM card (please reference your quick start guide for details).
  • Step 2: Insert the phone battery and replace battery cover (please reference your quick start guide for details).
  • Step 3: Power on the device by holding down the red power key.

Making data connections:

You will need a data plan with your GSM service provider. Please contact your service provider if a data plan is required.

If you are not using a T-Mobile US SIM, you will need to set up the APN in your device.

  • Step 1: Press Home, then Menu, touch Settings, then select Wireless controls. Select Mobile networks, and then select Access Point Names. Press the Menu button and select New APN.
  • Step 2: You will need to update your phone settings with the relevant Access Point Name (APN) for your service provider. You can call your service provider for this information, or you can look it up on the internet.   • Step 3: Tap on each field to fill in the relevant APN information
  • Step 4: Click MENU, and select "Save"

Can I change the Google account that I signed in with?
Yes, you can, but you'll need to reset your device first. Note that when you reset your device, you will lose all your currently-installed apps and text messages. Other content like your contacts, email, calendar entries, photos, and music will not be erased.

To reset the device:

  1. Launch the Settings application
  2. Select "SD card & phone storage"
  3. Select "Factory data reset"
  4. Click on "Reset phone"

What product limitations may apply?
For products shipped internationally, please note that the manufacturer warranty may not be valid; manufacturer service options may not be available; product manuals, instructions and safety warnings may not be in the destination country language; the product and accompanying materials may not be designed in accordance with destination country standards, specifications, and labeling requirements; and the products may not conform to destination country voltage and other electrical standards (requiring use of an adapter or converter if appropriate). You are responsible for assuring that the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country.

Why doesn't my Android Dev Phone 1/Android Dev Phone 2 include all apps and functionality found on consumer Android devices?
The Android Dev Phone 1/Android Dev Phone 2 is intended for development purposes only. We will do our best to make these phones as full-featured as possible. However, contractual or regulatory restrictions may prevent us from offering certain features found on consumer Android devices.


Returns

PLEASE READ RETURNS POLICY CAREFULLY. MODIFYING THIS DEVICE IN ANY WAY MAY VOID THE LIMITED WARRANTY.

What is your return policy and process?
The Android Dev Phone 2 and the Nexus One devices are NOT returnable.

Damaged Products:
If the shipping carrier tries to delivers a package that has been damaged or tampered with please REFUSE the shipment and contact us immediately.

What is the product warranty on this device?
The Android Dev Phone 1, the Android Dev Phone 2 and the Nexus One carries a one-year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Please refer to the Android Dev Phone 1 Limited Warranty information, Android Dev Phone 2 Limited Warranty information, the Nexus One Limited Warranty information for further details.

By purchasing this device, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review the warranty terms, have done so and accept the terms and conditions and where applicable the limitations, exclusions and disclaimers in them.

Technical Assistance
For product failure or malfunction, please follow these instructions:

1. Refer to the starter guide in order to identify and possibly correct the problem.
2. If the problem cannot be resolved by starter guide assistance, please contact the manufacturer's service agent as follows:


3. Provide the following information to the manufacturer's service agent:

a. Model and serial number for your device
b. Your name, address and contact information
c. Your original invoice number
d. A description of the problem or product failure
4. The service agent will provide warranty eligibility information and instructions on how your device may be serviced.

The manufacturer will provide the Customer with instructions regarding how and when the defective Product should be returned.
